See you at the Cycle Show – Birmingham NEC – 28 – 30 September 2012. Hall 9 Stand M53

Time to update our blog.  Not that we’ve been doing nothing since May. Indeed we had a great Mountain Mayhem (if you can call being pushed and towed off a field fun) that, owing to the hideous weather, resulted in a sell out.

Since then we’ve been meeting customers in the motorhome market, gaining new customers in the Middle East and getting our plans for the autumn and winter underway, with some exciting developments.  More news as we have it.

So, our next stop is the Cycle Show at the NEC in Birmingham.  See us in Hall 9 on stand M53 just next to the BMX demo track, Pump Track and the Mtb Demo Area.

If you’ve not tried a Nomad before, come and try one on the trade stand or if you are borrowing a Mtb to use on the outdoor test track you can have a go with one in the Bike Wash we have been asked to run in conjunction with Firecrest Mtb and Ducksmart.  There, you will see how good the Nomads really are – perfect for washing bikes, not too powerful to do any damage to seals and bearings, but plenty of energy and adjustability to get in all the right places.  You can even wash yourself down!

If you already have a Nomad then there are some nice accessories available on the stand including a Garden Hose Adapter so you can connect the Nomad Hose to hundreds of HozelockTM type fittings and products, extra batteries, In-car Quick Chargers and our luxury Cosy Cover for keeping the water warm for the post ride wash down of yourself back at the car.

Always happy to chat and answers any questions, so why not come and see why the Nomad is the best:  superior build quality, simplicity of use, enhanced power, quicker and better cleaning.  Plus it’s very quiet.

We are running a show promotion and will have stock to take away over the 4 days, all major credit and debit cards accepted.

See you soon.

Peterborough here we come. National Motorhome Show – 27 – 29 April

Last year’s National Motorhome Show was the first we attended, and we were so impressed we’re back again this year.

It’s amazing what you can buy for the camping and outdoor life – and it’s all here!  We love having a wander around to look at the vast array of kit and gadgets available, and will try to find some time again this time.

Of course, the Nomad is a great piece of kit for this market.  You want to keep your motorhome clean on the outside?  Then the Nomad is spot on.  With the 20 foot hose (that’s attached to the tank and so hosepipe ban friendly) you can effectively set the Nomad on the ground and clean 20 feet in one direction, and 20 feet in the other. That’s 40 feet of cleaning without having to move your water supply.

Want to keep your motorhome clean on the inside?   Then use the Nomad to clean all your outdoor gear down before traipsing it inside your beautiful motorhome:  boots, dogs, sticks, for example.   Peterborough’s your chance to see one working – and to take advantage of our show offer.  So, come and say hello.  We are on stand number 200.

Belton International Horse Trials – Horse & Hound prize winner

Once again Belton International Horse trials was an excellent event.  The weather was mixed ranging from the very cold to glorious sunshine on the last day (and a beautiful frost on the ground as we awoke on Sunday morning).

Thanks to you all you Nomad owners who came over to say ‘hello’.  It’s always good to put faces to names and to help out when you forgot the battery for your Nomad portable washer.  You know who you are!  We’re glad to be of help even after you made a purchase.

Equally it’s great to remember faces from last season as you popped by to say how fantastic your Nomad is!

We had an excellent weekend and were delighted to provide a photo opportunity for Martine Holden.  She entered a prize draw competition in Horse & Hound – and won a Nomad 18 V cordless portable washer.  She was delighted with this as her grey horse  kept at the Strumpshaw Riding Centre, that is near Norwich in Norfolk, needs frequent bathing.  So the Nomad is the ideal bit of kit for the job. It was also a double celebration as she and her friend (pictured above) also won a competition courtesy of Bede Events to a free weekend at the trials, hotel and hospitality included. Plus the fantastic opportunity to be walked around the cross country course by Mark Phillips himself.

All in all, a great start to 2012.

Burnham here we come! Thursday 5 to Saturday 7 April.

With just a couple of days since Belton to restock and catch up on emails, tomorrow we head for the illustrious Burnham International Horse Trials in Norfolk.  It’s a great opportunity to witness riders such as Piggy French, and William Fox-Pitt, Zara Phillips in action to name a few, and obviously, to see some fantastic horses

Stop by our display and say ‘hi’. We’ll have plenty of stock of what one of our new customers described only last Sunday as ‘must-have’ equestrian kit.  Ditch the bucket and sponge, and welcome a Nomad portable washer to your yard, trailer or box.  And with water restrictions popping up around the country you’ll have found the perfect way to clean or cool your horse without using a hosepipe from a tap.

So, why not treat yourself this weekend?  Our online price is £189.99 and includes next day delivery to most parts of the UK. This weekend you can get £20.00 off at Burnham.  Just leave a little space in your car, trailer or lorry for your Nomad (about the size of a coolbox)!

See you there.

Belton Horse Trials – Friday 30 March to Sunday 1 April

Cross Country warm-up banter and a little canter

After sponsoring last year’s series of Bede managed events we’re back for this season’s first big event.

Belton 2011 Zara Phillips on High Kingdom

Last year our portable washers cleaned hundreds of event horses and won over many riders who were unfamiliar with them , concerned that they might spook their horses or simply not be effective enough.

Nomad 18 V cordless Horse washer at Work...

However, the Nomad 18 V proved highly versatile: in the heat at the end of the cross-country stage, with a good quantity of ice in the tank the Nomad was extremely effective at cooling horses and getting their heart rate down in the required time.  In the opposite conditions, the Nomad did the job allowing owners to clean down their mounts very quickly before taking them back to the box – sometimes quite a way from the end of the course.  This saved them time and effort later.

FOR COOL, CLEAN, CALM HORSES

So to buy this indispensable piece of equine kit, come and say hello.  We’d be happy to take you through its assembly, use and packing it up – showing what a handy thing it is to have in the back of your truck, and usable anywhere you want to www.bede-events.com

Wiggle No Excuses Sportive – Sunday 18 March

ALL the Goodies...

Who’d have thought road bikes need much cleaning?  Well, at the Wiggle No Excuses Sportive organised by UK Cycling Events last Sunday, despite the conditions only feeling a bit ‘damp’ and the event being on the roads, hundreds of riders passed through the bike wash sponsored by Nomad.

Even Laughing Boy was there to help!

Carbon, steel, aluminium.  It didn’t matter.  Our fleet of Nomad 18 V cordless pressure washers hummed away as rider after rider recognised the time saved of cleaning their pride and joy before taking them home. Users were left impressed by the effectiveness of the Nomad. Simply point and squirt and in no time their bikes were clean.

The five Nomad 18 V cordless washers were kept very busy....

Lets FACE IT, with a bike looking like new a girl has to look good too!

Next time you’re at UK Cycling Event be sure to give the Nomad a go.  You’ll be converted.  Just like these people.  Next event is the Hot Chillee Sportive at Pixham End, Dorking. More here www.ukcyclingevents.co.uk

Charging Nomad 18 V batteries at UK Cycle Events

Today we announce that we are delighted to join forces with UK Cycling Events to supply bike washing facilities at all its events in the 2012 season.

We have provided a fleet of washers to allow the hundreds of participants at its events the facility to clean off their bikes before they go home and to experience what our many existing customers already appreciate – a quality, effective, safe way of cleaning bikes. The build of our products, their superior cleaning power and superior cordless battery system make them ideal for this purpose.

Recently voted the What Mountain Bike magazine group test winner the Nomad 18 V Cordless portable pressure washer uses a removable cordless powertool 18 volt battery.  The battery will run the washer for 30 to 40 minutes continuously and will empty about 5 tanks of water in that time.  With on average 2 bikes washed per tank that is 10 bikes per battery charge.  The batteries take approximately 1 ½ hrs to recharge.  Slide rule out…….

With the experience of supplying and running a bike wash facility at the UCI XC World Cup round at Dalby Forest we have put a kit of Nomad washers, additional batteries and chargers together for the UK Cycles Events Team to use during 2012.  In fact we have gone one better than filling a tent with chargers as we did at Dalby, we have build up a dedicated self-contained charging station.  See below.

Bob, my good friend and I – me with my foot in a cast (don’t ask)  - spent a couple of days designing and building a box containing 12 Nomad 18 V battery mains chargers.  This allows 12 Nomad 18 V batteries to be charged simultaneously unlike a commercially available charger that charges them sequentially – one after another (who’s got time for that)!  So we put our thinking caps on and us two engineers came up with a rugged simple solution.

Nomad direct will be offering discounts to UK Cycle Events customers – see the goodie bags handed out at the events for a flyer with a website promotional code.  We will also have a trade stand at a select number of the events so you can meet us and also buy Nomads at the event with even greater savings.

Many thanks to Martin Barden of UK Cycle Events for approaching us as we very proud to be able to work with him and his team through 2012 and hopefully beyond. If you attend one of their events please go along and use the washers and if you have a technical question or suggestion please feel free to email or call us here at Nomad Direct.

Nomad at Your Horse Live 2011

What a show we had.  We met so many old friends, made lots of new ones.  The new stand looked amazing – thank you to everyone that worked so hard on it and the sales of Nomad 18V, well let’s just say we will need an even bigger van next year!

It is always nice to hear that customers love their Nomad for washing horses off.  We truly lost count how many people came up to us on the stand and said so.  Prospective customers on the stand must have thought we had paid stooges!  It does make all the hard work so worthwhile…..glad you like them and thank you again for taking the time to come and see us.

Of course we were not alone as we had a number of our resellers there too on their own stands, so it’s a big thank to you all:-  Clippersharpe, Jumps Online, Hot Horse Products, Equi-trek Tregaron.

The mountain bike race team we have sponsored for many years Torq Fitness were also at the show providing advice and samples of their professional performance and recovery foods, gels and drinks for humans and not for horses for a change!  Good luck to Matt, Sasha and the rest of the guys for striving to make riders more healthy and performing to their optimum.

Warm water washing was a big discussion topic as the weather is finally starting to turn, which led to the Cosy Cover for the Nomad 18 V going down extremely well and very quickly selling out – all back orders will be filled this week from new stock.  The water heater we have tested with the Nomad 18V and sell an adapter hose for to Friday Fox, Hot Horse Products and Bell Tent UK also garnered a great deal of interest.  For yards without mains water or electricity, the water heateris a great cost effective solution.  The cold water in a Nomad 18 V tank can be pumped through the bottled gas  powered heater and either used from the heaters own spray head on re-circulated back into the Nomad’s tank for using in another location.  Quick, no fuss warm/hot water wherever you are.  No one wants to use cold water this time of the year!

The option to pay on the day for a Nomad 18 V and have it delivered by the Tuesday after the show worked well and saved lots of carrying back to cars and coaches – we will do that again.  The platinum, gold, silver and bronze package deals went down well and several were sold and it’s clear Santa is going to be busy with the number of Nomads on peoples Christmas Lists!

It was great to see so many visitors at the Show and a big thank you must go out to Bauer Media for putting on such a great event.

See you all next year.

Until then if you want to have the best for you and your horse, please do not hesitate to contact our friendly customer service team for sales or advice.
